Elk Meat
Hidden Island Elk Ranch is a great source for the interested consumer to find Quality Ranch Grown Elk Meat. Our animals are raised on quality feed grown right here on the ranch in the most environmentally friendly ways we can achieve. Please call or email for details or availability.
Efforts to maintain our herd and support our genetic diversity require us to rotate breeding stock, just like in nature. We benefit from this practice in many ways, but we feel the greatest benefit to be the availability of Quality Elk Meat. We normally select cows between the ages of 3 and 4, as the meat from these animals has been shown to be most tender at this age.
Elk meat is proven to be high quality source of protein, low in saturated fat and cholesterol, as well as a good source of Iron, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin B12.
